Pearadox is a high school FIRST Robotics Competition team from Pearland ISD. We introduce students to the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics(STEM) and we give our members the chance to work with professional engineers and experience real world engineering. We are involved with STEM outreach throughout our community and strive to spread our passion for STEM.
Our team is part of the organization FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). FIRST’s vision is to create young leaders in STEAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) through mentor-based competitive robotics. They aim to encourage students to pursue education and careers in STEM-related fields and help build important life skills such as: communication, leadership, and teamwork.
This year at Maker Faire we will be demoing our 2018 competition robot and explaining how robotics works to the public, so they may learn more about FIRST. Other FIRST teams will also be demoing their robots so we will be able to demonstrate how they interact.
In the past, our robotics team has demonstrated robots from each of the different years. Yearly, new robots are designed to excel in the new game released by FIRST, allowing us to show the public more innovative robot designs.
