My name is Melissa Salnave, an I have worked in public libraries for the last 10 years. I have been involved in the maker movement and libraries for the last 5 years. I am most interested in 3D printing and fiber arts projects.”
The Brazoria County Library System consists of twelve libraries located in various cities throughout the County. The Library System is unique in that we have a contractual agreement with various cities. The City is responsible for providing the building for the library facility and maintaining the building. The County is responsible for staffing the libraries and the purchase of library materials. The libraries are located in the following cities: Alvin, Angleton, Brazoria, Clute, Danbury, Freeport, Lake Jackson, Manvel, Pearland, Sweeny, and West Columbia. We offer a variety of services, and the Library System’s goal is to serve all areas of Brazoria County.

The library strives to achieve the highest level of service, while stressing convenience, speed of access, and quality of information.”
At previous Maker’s Fairs I’ve done lots of different crafts, for example pom pom shooters and catapults. I’ve also brought my home made wind tunnel and had attendees fly things in it. Last year I debuted my Raspberry Pi photobooth that takes a picture and uploads it to the library’s Twitter account.
“This year we will have our button maker, retro video games on a raspberry pi, and many different activities. I will also be teaching a class on making balloon animals.
